[edit]From Proto-Slavic *kъrčagъ, either from Proto-Slavic *kъrkъ (“cervix”) / *kъrkati (“to gulp”) + -ег (-eg) or of Oghur origin akin to Hungarian korsó (“jug”). Borrowed into Albanian kërçak.
