Etymology

Possibly inherited from Proto-Slavic *kyšěti. Compare Russian кише́ть (kišétʹ), Belarusian кішэ́ць (kišécʹ). Related to Lithuanian kušė́ti (to move) and to Latvian kustēt and kušņāt (to move).[1][2]
