[edit]From Proto-Mordvinic *keńəŕə (*keńə + *-ŕə), inherited from Proto-Uralic *küńä~*kińä. Cognate with Moksha кенерь (keńeŕ), Finnish kyynärä, Livonian kīndõr, Inari Sami käŋŋir, Hungarian könyök.
