Inherited from Old East Slavic кедръ (kedrŭ), borrowed from Old Church Slavonic кедръ (kedrŭ), from Ancient Greek κέδρος (kédros).[1][2][3] Doublet of цедръ (cedr). Cognate with Russian кедр (kedr).
