From *egizäk (twin), from Proto-Turkic *ẹk(k)iŕ (twin), from Proto-Turkic *ẹk(k)i (two). Cognate with Tatar игезәк (igezäk), Uzbek egizak, Uyghur ئېگىزەك (ëgizek, twin).
