Inherited from Old Slovak divina, from Proto-Slavic *divina. Usage, otherwise near-obsolete amongst West Slavic cognates, probably influenced by Serbo-Croatian дивљина / divljina. By surface analysis, дзиви (dzivi) +‎ -ина (-ina).
