Usage notes
[edit]Contrasted with -дугаар (-dugaar) and -дүгээр (-dügeer), дахь and дэх (dex) are used for cardinals in a more temporal sequence, e.g. гурав дахь сар (gurav daxʹ sar, “the third month”) vs гуравдугаар сар (guravdugaar sar, “March”); хоёр дахь үүд (xojor daxʹ üüd, “the second door [passing]”) vs хоёрдугаар үүд (xojordugaar üüd, “door [number] two”), etc.
