From асиміл(я́ція) (asymil(jácija)) +‎ -юва́ти (-juváty), ultimately from Latin assimulō. Compare Russian ассимили́ровать (assimilírovatʹ), Belarusian асімілява́ць (asimiljavácʹ), Polish asymilować.
