[edit]Ultimately from Ancient Greek Αὐγείας (Augeías, “Augeas”) + -ев (-ev, adjectival suffix).

Usage notes
[edit]- Principally only found in the collocation авгиеви обори (avgievi obori, “Augean stables”). Use referring directly to king Augeas or anyone else by the same name is much rarer.
- Does not bear the meaning of "Herculean", nor of "filthy", as in English.
