φλοῖσβος
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]The ending is reminiscent of θόρυβος (thórubos), κόναβος (kónabos) and ῥοῖβδος (rhoîbdos). Further analysis is unknown. Relation with φλιδάω (phlidáō, “to overflow with moisture”) is semantically not quite obvious.
