From τῑμωρός (tīmōrós, avenging, avenger) +‎ -έω (-éō, denominative verbal suffix), a contraction of τῑμάορος (tīmáoros), from τῑμή (tīmḗ, honour) +‎ ὁράω (horáō, to see).
