[edit]From Proto-Hellenic *pā́kʰus, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰeh₂ǵʰús. Cognates include Sanskrit बाहु (bāhu, “arm”), Old Persian 𐎲𐎠𐏀𐎢 (b-a-z-u /bāzu/) (Persian بازو (bâzu)), and Old English bōg (English bough).
