Etymology

Inherited from Byzantine Greek ξεφορτώνω (xephortṓnō), from εξεφορτώνω (exephortṓnō), from εκφορτ(ώ) (ekphort(ṓ)) +‎ -ώνω (-ṓnō).[1][2] By surface analysis, ξε- (xe-) +‎ φορτώνω (fortóno).
