[edit]From μνήμων (mnḗmōn, “remembering”) + -ικός (-ikós, “relative to”); μνήμων (mnḗmōn) from μνάομαι (mnáomai, “to be mindful, remember”) (from Proto-Indo-European *men- (“to mind; to think”)) + -μων (-mōn, suffix forming adjectives and agent nouns).
