[edit]Learnedly, from 3rd person ἰσοῦται (isoûtai) of the Ancient Greek ἰσοῦμαι (isoûmai) (1st person, contraction of ἰσόομαι (isóomai)), mediopassive voice of ἰσῶ (isô) (contracted form of ἰσόω (isóō). From ἴσος (ísos, “equal”)
