From Byzantine Greek ἀραχνιάζω (arakhniázō), from Ancient Greek ἀραχνιόω, ἀραχνιῶ (arakhnióō, arakhniô, spin a cobweb) (ἀράχνη (arákhnē, spider)) + -άζω (-ázō).

  1. (intransitive) to become covered in cobwebs, fill with cobwebs (usually through disuse or abandonment)
    Το σπίτι έμεινε άδειο τον χειμώνα και αράχνιασε.
