[edit]- Καλλικύριοι (Kallikúrioi)
- Κιλλικύριοι (Killikúrioi)
Etymology
[edit]Uncertain. It is thought to come from a Pre-Greek substrate because of the multiple forms. The root is anyway comparable with other Pre-Greek words, such as: κιλλίβας (killíbas), Κιλλικῶν (Killikôn), Κιλλάκτωρ (Killáktōr), Κίλιξ (Kílix). Compare also Ancient Greek κῡ́ρῐος (kū́rios) as second element of two of its variants.
