Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish اوزنمك (üzenmek, to take pains, to be pains-taking),[1] from Ottoman Turkish اوز (öz, pith, essence, the self), from Proto-Turkic *ȫŕ (inside, the essential part, the self).[2]
