ánéídlééh

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary
[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

ʼá- (do) + -ná- (back, reversionary) + -y- (3rd person object prefix) + ∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -d- (classifier) + -ł- (classifier)-nééh (imperfective stem of root -YAA, “to make”).

Unlike the d-effect found in verbs like yilééh or íílééh in the 1st person duo-plural and passives, the d-effect induced here by -reversionary applies after classifier -ł- and stem-initial -n- had already merged into -l-, to produce -dl-.
