[edit]Deverbal from zarządzić. First attested in c. 1792, but in common usage only as of 1794.[1] Compare Kashubian zarząd and Silesian zarzōnd.

[edit]According to Słownik frekwencyjny polszczyzny współczesnej (1990), zarząd is one of the most used words in Polish, appearing 5 times in scientific texts, 33 times in news, 26 times in essays, 4 times in fiction, and 2 times in plays, each out of a corpus of 100,000 words, totaling 70 times, making it the 928th most common word in a corpus of 500,000 words.[2]
