  1. Prompts the interlocutor to resume what they had been saying prior to an interruption.
  2. (humorous) Draws attention to something that has just happened that conflicts with what the interlocutor had said.
    A: There isn't much crime around here any more.
    (A and B suddenly witness a crime take place.)
    B: ...You were saying?
