- (metrology) An SI unit of amount of substance equal to 10−24 moles. Symbol: ymol. The yoctomole is approximately 0.6 of an individual particle.

Usage notes
[edit]- A single yoctomole cannot be realized; yoctomoles are still used for bulk measurements where individual counting cannot be performed. The yoctomole did make appearances in journals in the year the yocto- prefix was implemented, and often it is paired with the approximate amount of particles this value corresponds to.
