[edit]Compound of X (“obscene, adult, pornographic”, adjective) + video. The website sense is derived from a notional singular form of XVideos, a pornographic video-sharing website, itself named after the first etymological root and coined in 2007 by the website creator Stephane Michael Pacaud.
