Etymology
[edit]Perhaps in allusion to the rapacious nature of wolves (a common European belief during the 19th century).

- A large forest tree whose spreading branches prevent other trees from growing beside it.
- That wolf tree looks much older than the trees around it. I'd bet this was an empty field when it was young.
