- An animal that has been recently weaned.
- 1938, Xavier Herbert, chapter IX, in Capricornia[1], page 138:
- "I mean she's too young to get married," said Oscar. "Doesn't know she's alive yet—like calfing a weaner."
- A device used to help wean a young animal by keeping it from suckling.
