1. Any of various primitive aquatic snakes in the monotypic family Acrochordidae (the single genus Acrochordus).
   • 1987, Elena Marcon, Manuel Mongini, World Encyclopedia of Animals, page 158:

     Acrochordus javanicus of Java (illustrated here) like the other wart snakes hunts fish and for this reason has modified its teeth into long fangs.
