Etymology

From warlord +‎ -ing. Named after the Usenet group alt.fan.warlord which was established as a forum for warlording, itself named after the Usenet user with the handle "Death Star, War Lord of the West" who became infamous in parts of Usenet for having a particularly bloated signature block.
