vested school (plural vested schools)

  1. (historical) A national school built by the aid of grants from the board of Commissioners of National Education and secured for educational purposes by leases to the commissioners themselves, or to the commissioners and the trustees.
  2. A school that is privately owned, or belonging to a religious organisation, which is recognized by and receives funding from the government.
