Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish ویره‌سی (viresi, veresi),[1][2] or ویره‌سی یه (viresiye, veresiye), from ویرمك (virmek, vermek),[3] equivalent to ver- (to give, to deliver) +‎ -esiye (adverbial suffix).
