ventrobronchus (plural ventrobronchi)

1. Any of several tubes in the avian respiratory system which transport air from one of the parabronchi to the anterior air sacs.
   • 1999, Denis Charles Deeming, The Ostrich: Biology, Production and Health, page 63:

     The ventral end of the mesobronchus branches into several ventrobronchi, and the caudal end of the mesobronchus branches into several dorsobronchi.

   • 2013, Hans-Rainer Duncker, The Lung Air Sac System of Birds:

     The third ventrobronchus is characterized by a short, sturdy stem, which it gives off towards medioventral shortly after its origin from the primary bronchus.
