- Any of several plants with a velvety leaf as a most notable feature.
- A tall Asian herb, of species Abutilon theophrasti, that has velvety heart-shaped leaves and yellow flowers.
- Tree mallow (Malva eriocalyx), native to Europe.
- Yellow velvetleaf (Limnocharis flava), an aquatic flowering plant native to southeast Asia.
- A succulent of species Kalanchoe beharensis, native to Madagascar, often kept as a houseplant.
