- 1926-1933, Anton Hansen Tammsaare, chapter XIII, in Tõde ja õigus (Truth and Justice)[1], page 95:
- Ta käis mõisas vanahärra juures viljapuid kuulamas kambri otsa asutatava rohuaia tarvis ja härra lubas viljapuud jumalamuidu – peremehele rõõmuks, härrale mälestuseks, nõnda oli ta öelnud.
- He went to the old man's house to listen to the fruit trees at the end of the chamber he was founding and the lord promised the fruit trees as a godsend - for the pleasure of the landlord, in remembrance of the lord, so he said.
