[edit]Possibly from Sanskrit वकार (vakāra). By surface analysis, translingual ව (the letter) + kāra (term designating a letter or sound) etc.

- Okārukārānaṃ antabhūtānaṃ sare pare kvaci vakārādeso hoti.
- Final 'o' and 'u' are sometimes changed to 'v' before another vowel.
