Inherited from Chagatai [Term?] (grape), from Common Turkic *yüzüm (grape), from Proto-Turkic *yüŕüm (grape). Cognate with Turkish, Azerbaijani, Turkmen, and Gagauz üzüm, Bashkir йөҙөм (yöźöm), Chuvash иҫӗм (iś̬ĕm), Kazakh жүзім (jüzım), Kyrgyz жүзүм (jüzüm), Tatar йөзем (yözem), and Uyghur ئۈزۈم (üzüm).
