[edit]Borrowed from Arabic غَيْب (ḡayb, “that which is hidden”) or غَائِب (ḡāʔib, “hidden”) because the chewing-packages are kept in a box called kijaluba (from عُلْبَة (ʕulba)), if not in a basket kijamanda, while the ingredients are kept in a box called ufuraha.
