[edit]From Proto-Northern Jê *ĵwa (“to bathe”) < Proto-Cerrado *jwam (“bathe”) < Proto-Jê *jôm (“bathe”)), reshaped by analogy with the nonfinite form twârâ, from Proto-Northern Jê *ĵwə̂r (“to bathe”).
