1. A small mausoleum built over the grave of a high-ranking or holy Muslim, especially under the Ottomans.
   • 1988, Milorad Pavić, translated by Christina Pribićević-Zorić, Dictionary of the Khazars, Vintage, published 1989, page 125:

     “The guard locks the gates of the turbeh, letting the heavy sound of the lock fall into the dark interior, as though leaving the name of the key inside.”
