Aromanian
[edit]Alternative forms
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Uncertain. Possibly a substratum word of Dacian and ultimately Indo-European origin, related to Albanian sorrë, or borrowed from it; compare Daco-Romanian cioară. Also seemingly related to several Italian dialect cognates, compare Friulian çore, Calabrian ciola, Neapolitan ciàula, Tarentino ciola.[1]
