From tromocratia, from Greek τρομοκρατία (tromokratía, terrorism), a calque of French terrorisme through Ancient Greek τρόμος (trómos, trembling, fear) and -κρατία (-kratía, -cracy, rule) (thus also producing Ancient Greek τρομόκρατης (tromókratēs, terrorist))
