- (pharmacology) A medication belonging to the class of Janus kinase inhibitors, used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis.

- Tofacitinib was the first jakinib to be approved for the treatment of a rheumatic disease, specifically for patients with RA with an incomplete response to a conventional synthetic DMARD (csDMARD), either as tofacitinib monotherapy or in combination with a csDMARD (7-11). Subsequently, tofacitinib has been approved for PsA (12, 13) and ulcerative colitis (UC) (14).
