Usage notes

The phrase "todėl, kad" may be used for "because". For example:

1906, Marija Pečkauskaitė (Šatrijos Ragana) Vincas Stonis:

Kodėl taip darosi? Todėl, kad vanduo apšildamas suskysta [...]

Why is this happening? Because the water dissipates as it heats up [...]
