[edit]Univerbation of të jetër, now only Arbëresh, akin to Old Church Slavonic етеръ (eterŭ).[1] Compare also Latin c-ēterus (“the other one”) from *h₁e- (“this”) + *-teros.

[edit]- Being one of the few irregular adjectives, in the modern standard language it does not use the nyja for singular forms (tjetër), but it does for plural forms (të tjerë, të tjera).
