[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تجارت (ticâret, “trade, commerce; profit”),[1][2] from Arabic تِجَارَة (tijāra, “commerce, trade”), verbal noun of تَجَرَ (tajara, “to trade, to traffic, to practice commerce”).[3]
