[edit]13th century. From Old Galician-Portuguese tẽevras (Cantigas de Santa Maria), from Latin tenebrae, tenebrās. Cognate with Portuguese trevas and Spanish tinieblas.

[edit]- Normally used in plural; however, the standard Dicionario da Real Academia Galega provides the lemma tebra in singular.
