[edit]- Plural of obsolete táukas, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *touʔkós, from Proto-Indo-European *touHk-o-,[1] likely from *tewk-. Cognate with Latvian tàuki and Old Prussian taukis;[1] further to Russian тук (tuk, “fat”), English thigh, and Old Irish tón.[1]
