[edit]Borrowed from Javanese ꦠꦤ꧀ꦠꦿꦶ (tantri), from Old Javanese tantri, from Sanskrit तन्त्र (tantra, “a class of works teaching magical and mystical formularies”). Compare to English tantra. Doublet of tentara and tenteram.
