[edit]From Old Galician-Portuguese atafona, from Andalusian Arabic الطَاحُونَة (aṭ-ṭāḥūna), from Arabic طَاحُونَة (ṭāḥūna, “mill”). Compare Portuguese atafona and Spanish tahona.
