Etymology

Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish دوریمك (döremäk), دورومك (dörümäk) Proto-Turkic *töre- (to be born, originate), ultimately a derivation from Old Anatolian Turkish *töŕ. Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (törü-, to come into being, to be generated), Turkish türemek, Gagauz türümää.
