- /w-/ third person prefix (metathesizes with /t-/, and the resulting /wá/ is realized as /ò/.
- /t-/ : inserted before initial vowel
- /àspënëm/ : to lift it
- /-ne/ : inanimate suffix
Cognate with Munsee úspŭnum (“to lift something up”), Mohegan-Pequot uspunum (“to lift it”), Massachusett ushpunum (“he lifts it up”).
