synthetic ice skate (plural synthetic ice skates)

  1. (sports) A type of skate used on synthetic ice, having the body of an ice skate with a blade substitute that uses a row of small inline double-knife-edged bladed wheels (ice skates similarly have a double-knife-edge blade), much smaller wheels than found on inline roller skates.
